Use SMS in place of Letters
Why Use Extended SMS to Replace Letters?
* SMS messages are a fraction of the cost of the letters they can replace!
* SMS messages are immediate and personal!
* SMS messages are greener reducing your carbon footprint!
Why not consider replacing Letters with SMS to reduce your operating expenditure? We know that sometimes 160 characters may not be enough to get the message across however we have a solution.
In general terms SMS text messages are made up of 160 ASCII characters. There are some special characters such as the Euro symbol € which actually count as two characters. This can be a limitation when trying to replace letters with SMS. The trick is not to generate an incoming phone call, unless of course that is the objective. The content of the SMS can be extended however by merging the text of multiple SMS messages seamlessly.
We call the messages concatenated SMS or EMS, the clever bit takes place on our gateway so you do not need to worry about how this happens. The only considerations that you must take in to account are;
a) The length of each message is reduced to only 153 characters.
b) The whole message will be charged for as to total number of individual credits.
The reason for the reduction in number of characters is that 7 hidden characters of each message are used to tell the mobile phone how to reassemble the message.
